SEKISUI Challengers narrowly lose 17-20 to Fujitsu Frontiers
The SEKISUI Challengers narrowly lost to the Fujitsu Frontiers with a score of 17-20 during the sixth match of the X League Premier on September 13.
Despite the loss, the Challengers demonstrated strong offensive capabilities, particularly through their passing unit. Led by wide receiver #15 Otani and #1 Boogie Knight, the team recorded 318 passing yards, significantly outperforming the Frontiers' 155 yards. Otani, a new addition to the team this season, scored two touchdowns, including a first-quarter score following a pass from quarterback #8 Garrett and a third-quarter score that briefly gave the Challengers a 17-10 lead.
The Challengers' defense also showed resilience, with linebackers #10 Tsubokura and #29 Takeno recording 11 tackles combined, and defensive lineman #99 Shimano securing an interception. Although the Frontiers eventually reclaimed the lead through a touchdown and a field goal, the Challengers remained competitive until the final whistle.
