Sekolah Rakyat students in Lebak begin orientation at new facility

Approximately 270 students from the Sekolah Rakyat program in Lebak Regency, Banten, have participated in pre-school orientation activities at a new permanent facility in Panggarangan. The facility, spanning 8.8 hectares, is currently 98 percent complete and includes classrooms, dormitories, a multipurpose building, a kitchen, a canteen, a place of worship, and sports fields.

The program targets students from the lowest socioeconomic categories, specifically Decile 1 and Decile 2 according to the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN). The current student body includes 30 elementary, 120 junior high, and 120 senior high school students. All participants have undergone mandatory free health checks conducted by Panggarangan community health center medical staff.

Lela Gifty Cleria, Acting Head of the Lebak Social Affairs Office, stated that the new permanent building has a capacity for approximately 1,000 students. The initiative aims to produce high-achieving, independent human resources to help break the cycle of poverty, aligning with the goals of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming.
