Selah’s Pig Sanctuary offers free housing for volunteers in Hawaii

Selah’s Pig Sanctuary, a non-profit refuge located in Keaau on Hawaii’s Big Island, is seeking volunteers to assist in the care of rescued pigs. In exchange for 20 hours of work per week, the sanctuary provides accommodation on-site, including electricity and internet access.

The program is a work exchange rather than paid employment or a conventional tourist stay. Volunteers are responsible for tasks such as preparing and providing food, refreshing water, daily animal care, and monitoring the health of the pigs. The role also involves physical labor and facility maintenance, including cleaning enclosures and outdoor upkeep.
