Selah’s Pig Sanctuary offers live-in caretaking roles in Hawaii

Selah’s Pig Sanctuary, located on Hawaii Island in Keaau, is offering a live-in caretaker position for individuals willing to care for rescued pigs. In exchange for approximately 20 hours of work per week, the organization provides free accommodation and food.

Responsibilities include feeding and watering the animals, monitoring their health, cleaning enclosures, and changing bedding. Caretakers are also expected to assist with animal socialization, educational programs, and emergency responses, as well as performing physical tasks such as fence repairs, composting, and waste removal.

While no prior experience with pigs is required, applicants must be responsible, physically capable, and committed to a minimum stay of at least three months. The position does not include financial compensation.
