Selangor government negotiates cooperation agreement with Bersatu
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that negotiations for a Cooperation Agreement (CSA) between the Selangor state government and the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) are ongoing. The goal is to finalize the agreement before the presentation of the Selangor state budget in November.
Amirudin noted that the negotiation process involves typical back-and-forth discussions and bargaining to reach a consensus. He mentioned that the framework for this cooperation aims to address matters of public interest, drawing lessons from previous federal-level CSA models.
Reports indicate the agreement could involve 11 or 12 Bersatu State Assemblymen (ADUN) in Selangor, who would then act as supporters of the state government. Amirudin clarified that even without a formal agreement, opposition members in Selangor continue to receive allocations, though typically at half the rate of the government.
