Selangor Islamic Heritage Festival elevated to national level for 2026
The Selangor Islamic Heritage Festival (FTIS) is being elevated to a national level, rebranded as the Festival Turath Islami Malaysia (FTIM) 2026. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that the fourth edition of the festival will be organized through a collaboration between the Selangor State Government and the Federal Government via the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs).
Scheduled to take place from September 13 to 20, the festival will move its primary location from Shah Alam to Masjid Putra in Putrajaya. Under the theme ‘Hikmah Warisan Islam’, the event will focus on the work ‘Al-Hikam al-Ata’iyyah’ by the prominent Sufi scholar Ibnu Atha'illah As-Sakandari, which explores themes of sincerity and devotion.
The eight-day program will feature over 42 study sessions with 23 local and international scholars, including former Grand Mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Dr. Ali Jum’ah. Other scheduled participants include Prof. Dr. Sayyid Idris al-Fasi al-Fihri, Ustaz Dr. Adi Hidayat, and Ustaz Wadi Annuar. Activities will include dawn lectures, Dalail al-Khairat recitations, and book festivals.
