Selangor leads medal tally at SUKMA 2026

The 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) are underway in Selangor, with the host state currently leading the overall medal tally. As of the latest reports, Selangor has secured 14 gold, 15 silver, and nine bronze medals, including recent victories in petanque, chess, and road cycling.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari noted that while the host state benefits from home-ground advantage and supporter momentum, competition remains intense from states such as Terengganu, Johor, and the Federal Territories.

In other developments, the Penang contingent celebrated its first gold medal of the tournament, achieved by 16-year-old judoka Qaleeda Izz’Dika. Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow visited the state's operations center to boost morale following the achievement.
