Selangor poised to reach record RM100 billion investment in 2026

Selangor is positioned to potentially set a new investment record exceeding RM100 billion by the end of 2026. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari reported that the state had already secured RM70 billion in investments during the first half of 2026.

While the state government initially set a target of RM80 billion—matching 2025 performance—the current momentum suggests the RM100 billion milestone is achievable. This growth is attributed to aggressive international trade and investment missions to countries including France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea.

Further investment is expected to be driven by strategic infrastructure developments, such as the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), the proposed construction of a third port on Carey Island, and new industrial zones like the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP). The NSIP is expected to host over 200 factories once fully operational.
