Selangor police probe claims body left at sea during fishing boat tragedy

Selangor police are investigating allegations that a fishing boat crew and owner failed to recover a body during a recent maritime tragedy involving seven anglers near One Fathom Bank. The investigation follows viral claims that a body was spotted at sea while four survivors were being rescued, but was left behind.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that preliminary witness accounts suggest the spotted body may have belonged to a different individual rather than the group of anglers. He noted that identification was not possible at the time due to the condition of the body. Police are currently working to trace the boat owner and crew involved to complete their investigation.

The incident, which occurred on September 13, resulted in the deaths of two anglers, Mohd Shahril Abd Rahman and Muhammad Ridzuan Ruhaizat. Four other individuals were rescued after drifting at sea for over 36 hours.
