Self-taught creator develops man-carrying electric flying skateboard

A self-taught technology creator from Hubei, China, known as ‘Shenqi Ayu,’ has successfully developed a man-carrying electric flying skateboard. The creator, a member of the post-00s generation without a formal university degree, utilized self-taught knowledge in mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, and AI programming to complete the project.

The development process involved two distinct iterations. The initial prototype utilized five miniature turbojet engines; however, testing resulted in a combustion failure and the destruction of the fuel and electrical systems due to heat re-ingestion. Following an AI-driven analysis of the failure, the creator pivoted to an electric propulsion system.

The second version features ten sets of brushless motors, providing a total thrust exceeding the weight of four adults. To manage the stability challenges of flight, the creator implemented an AI-assisted attitude control system. This system uses two mobile devices to collect real-time flight data and provides voice prompts via Bluetooth headphones—such as ‘center of gravity shifted left’—to guide the pilot in maintaining balance. The device recently made a public appearance at a technology launch event in Shanghai, demonstrating stable hovering and linear flight.
