Selim Asar scales beekeeping business in Bartın

Selim Asar, a producer in Bartın, has successfully transitioned from a small-scale operation to professional beekeeping over the past eight years. His journey began in 2018 through the Young Farmer Project, an initiative led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which provided him with an initial 40 hives.

By utilizing various ministerial support programs and increasing his technical expertise, Asar has expanded his production capacity and improved hive management. His operations are now a significant source of income and contribute to regional production.

Murat Türkmen, the Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, recently visited Asar’s apiary in Hasanefendi village to inspect the ongoing work and discuss methods for ensuring sustainable production. Asar expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing his commitment to honest production and respect for nature.
