Sello and Ammattiopisto Live partner to provide work skills training

Sello shopping centre and Ammattiopisto Live have maintained a partnership since 2018 to provide practical work experience for approximately 100 students who require special support. The collaboration allows students to practice essential workplace skills in an authentic environment, including customer service, communication, product display, and restaurant industry tasks.

Each year, about 60 students participate in group-based learning through events and pop-up sales points, while roughly 40 students engage in individual work experience periods within various businesses. The program involves 20 to 25 different retailers or service providers located within Sello.

Annika Lipponen, Account Manager at Live Foundation, noted that the authentic work environment motivates students and helps them understand the practical application of their skills. The initiative aims to build confidence and prepare young people for the transition into the workforce by providing a supported and safe setting for professional growth.
