Selma Blair announces antisemitism documentary ‘Hineni’

Actress Selma Blair has announced she is producing a new documentary titled ‘Hineni’ (Here I Am), which will focus on the subject of antisemitism. The announcement was made during an Anti-Defamation League event in New York City.

Blair stated that the project is a response to the professional and personal fallout she experienced following controversial social media comments made in early 2024. At that time, she posted a comment regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas that was widely criticized as Islamophobic. While she issued an apology, stating she had unintentionally conflated Muslims with radical Islamists, she noted that the incident resulted in the loss of professional partnerships and personal connections.

The documentary is intended to explore the complexities of geopolitics and antisemitism, with plans to film in Israel. Blair noted that the film will include perspectives from those who disagree with her to ensure a broader dialogue.
