Selma Blair pleads not guilty to assault charges following flight incident

Actress Selma Blair is facing legal scrutiny following an incident on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York on October 11. Authorities report that Blair allegedly assaulted two flight attendants, with one sustaining a bite wound and another suffering a bloody nose. Upon landing at JFK International Airport, she was arrested and accused of kicking a police officer and a nurse during medical transport.

Blair has pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault. Her legal team and representatives have issued statements asserting that the incident was caused by a medical emergency rather than criminal intent. They noted that Blair lives with multiple sclerosis and pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition that can cause involuntary emotional expressions and confusion. Her defense also stated she had missed doses of her medication and may have suffered a head injury during the flight.

Representatives specifically denied reports that Blair attempted to open the aircraft door. While the FBI and the Federal Aviation Administration are reportedly involved in investigations, Blair was released on $20,000 bail. She recently made a public appearance at the '90s Con in Connecticut, appearing in good spirits despite the ongoing legal proceedings.
