Selçuk University Hospital provides robotic surgery without extra fees

Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in Konya has implemented advanced robotic surgery systems without charging patients additional fees or price differences. The hospital is currently one of only two university hospitals in Turkey to operate two separate robotic surgery systems.

Since the first system was introduced approximately 1.5 years ago, more than 300 successful surgeries have been performed. The acquisition of a second device has increased operational capacity and flexibility for patients. The technology is utilized across several specialties, including general surgery, urology, thoracic surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology.

University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz stated that the institution aims to provide world-standard healthcare services while prioritizing equality of opportunity in health. He emphasized that despite the high cost of robotic surgery, the hospital does not collect extra fees, making the technology accessible to all patients.
