Selvaggia Lucarelli to Philippines for 'Isola dei Famosi' after quake

Journalist and TV host Selvaggia Lucarelli was confirmed in late May 2026 as the presenter of the next edition of Mediaset’s reality show ‘Isola dei Famosi’. She will spend about a month and a half on location in the Philippines, filming on‑site rather than in a studio, and will continue to publish her newsletter and a podcast from the island.

A magnitude‑7.8 earthquake struck the Philippines a few days before her departure, killing at least 15 people and injuring over 200. An initial tsunami alarm was issued and later lifted. Lucarelli posted on Instagram and wrote in her newsletter, “Iniziamo serenamente…”, adding that the quake was far from the filming site. She also noted, “Terremoto è lontano”.

Former ‘Isola dei Famosi’ host Alessia Marcuzzi commented that Lucarelli might feel “un po’ di ansia” about the challenge, saying “Sarà interessante vederla alle prese con la conduzione”. The production is expected to air in the autumn season on Mediaset’s main channel, with a cast that remains under wraps.
