Selvi film to premiere at Busan International Film Festival

The film Selvi, starring and produced by National Award winner Anjali Patil, is scheduled for its world premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival in October 2026. The film will be featured in the Vision – Asia section, a platform dedicated to new Asian directors.

Written and directed by Sailesh Rathnakumar, the film is set within the lives of home-care workers. It draws inspiration from the experiences of migrant women from Tamil Nadu who work as nurses in various households. The narrative explores themes of migration, friendship, exhaustion, and the challenges faced by healthcare workers.

Selvi is produced under Patil’s banner, Anahat Films, and is co-produced by the Red Sea Fund with support from Hong Kong Asia Film Financing.
