Semana de Bellas Artes 2026 concludes in Dominican Republic
The Dirección General de Bellas Artes (DGBA) has concluded the Semana de Bellas Artes 2026. Held from September 14 to 18 at the Sala Aída Bonnelly of the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito, the event featured five nights of free programming, including lectures, didactic talks, and artistic demonstrations.
Organized as part of the 2026 Cultural Training Program in collaboration with the Fundación Amigos del Teatro Nacional, this year's edition was dedicated to cultural manager Natacha Sánchez in recognition of her contributions to Dominican culture. Marianela Sallent, Director General of Bellas Artes, emphasized that artistic excellence requires continuous study and the sharing of knowledge.
The program included a demonstration of the ballet 'Salomé: Alma de Patria' by Pablo Pérez, director of the Ballet Nacional Dominicano, and a lecture on the 80-year history of the Compañía Nacional de Teatro by actor Canek Denis.
