Semana Farroupilha celebrations begin in Rio Grande do Sul

Traditionalist celebrations for Semana Farroupilha are commencing across various locations in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

In São Leopoldo, festivities are being held at two main camps: Agap in Parque do Trabalhador and ATGF in the Feitoria neighborhood. The 2026 theme focuses on ‘Jesuit and Guarani Heritage in Rio Grande do Sul: 400 years of culture and tradition’. The Agap site features a performance by Os Fagundes, while ATGF will host shows by Elton Saldanha and Grupo Sanfonaço. Both locations offer free admission to cultural attractions including dances, theatrical performances, and workshops.

In Querência do Arroio do Meio, CTG Querência do Arroio do Meio is launching its program with an official opening ceremony and a dance with Os Maneadores. The event includes a new Farroupilha camp with ten covered spaces. The schedule features various activities such as a traditional parade, horseback riding, and a ‘Missa Crioula’, with organizers expecting over 2,000 attendees.
