Semarang house fire results in one fatality

A fatal house fire occurred in Boromiri, Kedungringin Village, Suruh District, Semarang Regency, on Friday night, August 14, 2026. The fire, which reportedly originated from a central room due to a suspected electrical short circuit, completely destroyed the 10x8 meter residence owned by Rohmat Salam.

One occupant, the homeowner, died in the incident after becoming trapped inside the building. Authorities noted the victim was unable to escape due to mental health issues. The fire caused estimated material losses of approximately Rp100 million. Local fire departments from Klego Boyolali, Tengaran, Salatiga, and Getasan collaborated to extinguish the flames by 20:48 WIB.
