Semarang police hunt suspect in violent snatching of elderly woman

An elderly woman was victimized in a violent snatching incident on Jalan Seroja, Karangkidul, in Central Semarang. Video footage of the event circulated on social media, showing the victim attempting to hold onto her belongings while being dragged several meters across the asphalt by a motorcyclist.

The perpetrator, wearing a jacket resembling an online taxi driver's uniform, fled with a mobile phone, approximately Rp 150,000 in cash, and the victim's identity card. Iptu Nurul, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Semarang Tengah Police, confirmed that a report has been filed and authorities are actively pursuing the suspect.
