Semarang residents report home damage from Pakuwon Mall Gombel project

Residents living near the Pakuwon Mall Gombel development project in Semarang have filed complaints with the Semarang City DPRD regarding damage to their homes. The residents allege that construction activities, specifically drilling and land preparation, have caused structural cracks, noise, and dust.

During an audience with Commission C of the DPRD, three residents reported damage to four plots of land and buildings, ranging from minor to severe. Some affected homeowners are demanding compensation equivalent to three times the Non-Taxable Object Value (NJOP) to facilitate relocation.

In response, DPRD members have urged the Semarang City Environmental Agency (DLH) to strictly monitor the project's compliance with its Environmental Management and Monitoring Efforts (UKL-UPL) documents. Legislators emphasized that while environmental impacts like noise and cracks may have been predicted in planning documents, the city government must ensure that the developer's mitigation commitments are actually implemented on-site.
