Sembcorp Green Infra files for Rs37.5 billion IPO in India
Sembcorp Green Infra, the Indian renewable energy unit of Singapore-based Sembcorp Industries, has filed draft prospectus papers for an initial public offering (IPO) in Mumbai. The offering, which could raise up to Rs37.5 billion (approximately US$500 million), is a fresh issue of shares and does not include an Offer for Sale (OFS) component.
The company intends to use approximately Rs30 billion of the proceeds to repay a portion of its Rs125.23 billion debt. This filing represents Sembcorp’s second attempt to list its Indian renewable arm, following a previous attempt in 2018 that was withdrawn to allow for further equity injections.
As of March 2026, the company reported a 22 per cent increase in net profit to Rs3.46 billion, with revenue growing 14.4 per cent to Rs26.52 billion. Sembcorp Green Infra currently maintains 3.60 gigawatts of operational wind and solar capacity, with an additional 4.04 gigawatts under construction. The IPO is being managed by several financial institutions, including Axis Capital, Citigroup, HSBC, ICICI Securities, IIFL Capital Services, and Kotak Mahindra Capital.
