Semen Padang’s head coach Imran Nahumarury affirmed his intention to guide the team back to Indonesia’s top‑flight Super League after the club’s relegation to the second‑tier Championship for the 2026/2027 season. The team finished the 2025/2026 season in 17th place with 20 points, sealing its drop with a 0‑3 loss to Persija Jakarta.

Nahumarury acknowledged challenges beyond the pitch, including management issues and financial constraints that delayed player salaries, but said the squad showed improved ball‑control and spirit. He stressed that rebuilding will take time and that the recent progress offers a foundation for the club’s next attempt at promotion.
