Semiconductor and robotics markets see significant growth in 2026

Global technology sectors are experiencing significant growth, driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and data center infrastructure. Worldwide semiconductor sales rose 102.3% year-over-year in the first half of 2026, reaching $701.9 billion. This surge was largely propelled by a 362.6% increase in Total MOS Memory sales during the second quarter, fueled by investments in AI and automotive electronics.

In North America, robotics demand is diversifying across various industries. According to the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), companies ordered 8,940 robots valued at $622 million in the second quarter of 2026. While automotive OEM orders saw a 25% decline, growth in sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, life sciences, and food and consumer goods helped offset the loss. Non-automotive customers accounted for 56% of all robot units ordered during the quarter.
