Semiconductor Industry Association reports record global sales

Global semiconductor sales reached $146.8 billion in July 2026, a 135.1% increase compared to the same month the previous year. According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), total sales from January to July 2026 reached $848.6 billion, surpassing the previous record annual total set in 2025.

This marks the 17th consecutive month of month-over-month growth. Regional growth was significant across all major markets: the Americas saw a 171.3% year-over-year increase, followed by Asia-Pacific at 134.9%, China at 123.6%, Europe at 85.2%, and Japan at 50.8%.

In a leadership transition, the SIA announced that Michael Robbins will succeed John Neuffer as President and CEO, effective October 1, 2026. Robbins, currently the CEO of the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), is expected to focus on strengthening the U.S. semiconductor ecosystem and enhancing industry advocacy within the federal government.
