Micron Technology reports record Q4 revenue on AI memory demand

Micron Technology has reported record-breaking fiscal fourth-quarter results, driven by surging demand for memory chips essential to artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company's fourth-quarter revenue more than quadrupled year-over-year to $54.23 billion, significantly exceeding Wall Street estimates. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter reached $33.42, surpassing analyst expectations.

Key business segments showed massive growth, with the Core Data Center unit generating $18 billion in revenue. The company's success is largely attributed to the demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) used in AI processors from companies like Nvidia. Micron reported that long-term supply agreement commitments have risen to $32 billion, up from $22 billion in June, with many agreements backed by cash deposits.

Looking ahead, Micron provided optimistic guidance for the first fiscal quarter of 2027, projecting revenue between $60 billion and $63 billion and adjusted earnings per share between $37.15 and $39.15. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra indicated that the company expects fiscal year 2027 to be another record-breaking year as supply and demand conditions for memory and storage remain tight. To meet this demand, Micron is aggressively expanding, including plans to increase US investments to over $250 billion through 2035.
