Seminario Diocesano de León faces structural and vocational crisis

The Seminario Diocesano de León is facing a multifaceted crisis involving structural, economic, and vocational challenges. Archbishop Jaime Calderón Calderón announced that the demolition of two residential buildings has been underway for three months after technical reports identified structural flaws that posed safety risks to seminarists.

This follows the previous demolition of a Philosophy module. To ensure safety, seminarists have been temporarily relocated to the seminary auditorium. In addition to physical infrastructure repairs, the institution is working to address a decline in religious vocations. A special collection is scheduled for September 13 to support these efforts.
