Semmelweis University launches nutrition education series
Semmelweis University has launched a new educational series titled ‘Semmelweis HELP a tányéron’ to combat nutritional misinformation spreading on social media. The initiative aims to provide scientifically grounded, accessible dietary advice to counter unverified claims made by unregulated nutrition advisors.
Managed by dietitian Adrienn Szabó, the series will release content twice a month via the Semmelweis HELP Facebook and Instagram pages. The program will cover diverse topics, including postpartum nutrition, breastfeeding, hormonal changes in adolescence, menopause, and men's health.
The first installment focuses on immune system support through diet. Experts emphasize that a balanced diet providing high-quality proteins and nutrients is more effective for health than ad hoc multivitamin supplementation. The project follows the philosophy of the Semmelweis HELP application, which seeks to offer credible alternatives to internet disinformation.
