Sena Technologies and CNPS partner to develop autonomous golf trolley

Sena Technologies and CNPS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to co-develop a next-generation smart golf trolley. The collaboration aims to integrate Sena Technologies’ autonomous robot caddy, the ‘DroneCaddy Rover’, with CNPS’s Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) based precision positioning technology.

The smart trolley is designed to recognize and follow golfers even in challenging environments with significant slopes and undulations, such as mountainous golf courses. By utilizing Vision AI and RTK modules, the system will be capable of real-time scanning to collect data on a player’s shot point and ball landing location.

Furthermore, the companies plan to automate the data collection process by linking the technology with the data systems of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) and the Korea Golf Association (KGA). This will allow shot data to be transmitted directly to official scoring systems and broadcasting networks. Following demonstrations on professional tours, the companies intend to expand the market application to public golf courses and the self-round market.
