Senac and local agencies launch digital literacy programs for seniors in Brazil

Educational initiatives aimed at digital inclusion for the elderly are being implemented in different Brazilian regions through partnerships with Senac.

In Ubatuba, the Secretariat of Social Assistance is offering free in-person courses across several modules, including digital technology use, elderly rights, theater, and regional tourism. The program aims to foster autonomy and social participation. Classes are scheduled in the West, South, and Central regions, with 25 vacancies available per location.

In Serra Talhada, Senac is conducting a basic informatics and internet course specifically designed for seniors. The 15-hour program focuses on web navigation, communication tools, and digital security to help participants recognize risks such as online fraud and scams. This initiative follows data from the IBGE showing a significant increase in internet usage among Brazilians aged 60 and older.
