Senamhi issues weather alerts for high temperatures and UV radiation in Peru

The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (Senamhi) has issued weather alerts for various regions across the country. In the northern coast and highlands, a regional meteorological notice warns of a moderate to extreme increase in daytime temperatures. This alert is scheduled to remain in effect from Tuesday, October 6, through Friday, October 9, 2026.

Forecasts indicate maximum temperatures on the northern coast will range between 24°C and 35°C, while the northern highlands may see values between 22°C and 33°C. Additionally, Senamhi warned of dangerous increases in ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels due to low cloud cover at midday. Other expected conditions include wind gusts reaching approximately 40 km/h in the afternoons and the possibility of scattered rainfall along the northern coast.

In other parts of Peru, including Lima, weather conditions vary, with reports of cloudy skies and temperatures ranging from 13°C to 27°C depending on the specific city and time of day.
