Senapred issues weather alerts in Atacama and La Araucanía
Senapred has issued weather alerts across different regions of Chile due to incoming meteorological systems. In the Atacama region, a Yellow Alert has been maintained following reports of rising water levels in the Pulido and El Tránsito rivers, as well as the activation of various ravines. This measure aims to prepare resources to mitigate risks to the population and the environment.
Simultaneously, in the La Araucanía region, a Preventive Early Warning has been updated as an atmospheric river brings heavy rains and strong winds. Authorities in Victoria have warned of potential landslides in pre-cordilleran areas and flooding in critical watercourses, with wind gusts expected to reach up to 90 kilometers per hour.
