Ibero-American Health Congress facilitates bilateral cooperation and new insurance plans

The First Ibero-American Health Congress, organized by the Fundación Iberoamericana Consenso Salud (FICS) in Buenos Aires, brought together health leaders from 14 countries to discuss sustainable healthcare agendas. Key discussions focused on financial sustainability, aging populations, and technological innovation.

During the event, Costa Rican Health Minister Alexander Sánchez Cabo and Argentine Health Minister Mario Iván Lugones explored a bilateral cooperation agreement. This potential partnership aims to share technical assistance and expertise in areas such as pharmaceutical regulation, drug traceability, and the control of cannabis and hemp.

In the Dominican Republic, the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) met with healthcare providers and insurance brokers in Santiago to present SeNaSa Ultra. This new complementary plan offers over 800 additional services, including coverage for high-cost services up to RD$4 million, robotic surgery, and neurodevelopmental therapies, featuring a flat premium regardless of age.
