Senate President Honorio Henríquez reports AI voice impersonation

Honorio Miguel Henríquez Pinedo, President of the Senate and Congress, has denounced an identity theft scheme involving artificial intelligence. Unknown individuals are using AI tools to clone his voice, enabling them to conduct convincing telephone conversations that mimic his intonation, rhythm, and pronunciation.

The Presidency of Congress issued an official alert on October 23, 2026, warning citizens, authorities, and media outlets about the risks. The scammers may use these synthetic voices to request personal information, perform unauthorized administrative tasks, or induce victims to make fraudulent money transfers.

Two specific telephone numbers have been identified as fraudulent: 321 340 1065 and 320 392 5074. Officials emphasized that these lines do not belong to the senator and advised the public to verify any contact through official channels and to refrain from fulfilling any requests made via these numbers.
