Senator Abdulaziz Yari holds Zamfara rally following campaign appointment

Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the newly appointed Director-General of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, held a large solidarity gathering in Gusau, Zamfara State. The event, organized by several political groups, included a 7-kilometer march from the Trade Fair Complex to the Government House to celebrate Yari’s appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

While organizers and APC stakeholders, including State Chairman Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, framed the event as a demonstration of support for Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda and a pledge for a landslide victory in 2027, the gathering faced social media scrutiny. Viral footage from the event appeared to show sections of the crowd chanting ‘Sai Atiku,’ referencing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Yari has since moved to reclaim the narrative, describing the turnout as an overwhelming show of solidarity for the President’s mandate without directly addressing the controversial chants.
