Senator Ali Ndume advocates for public service and agricultural education in Borno
Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, stated on Monday that his entry into politics was motivated by a desire to serve the public rather than to accumulate personal wealth. Speaking during a meeting with community leaders from Shani in Borno State, Ndume urged public officials to prioritize the needs of their constituents and maintain accountability.
Ndume highlighted the progress of a bill passed by the Senate to establish a Federal College of Agriculture in Shani. The institution aims to expand agricultural education and provide practical skills to young people in a region known for rice, tomato, and onion cultivation. The bill has passed its third reading in the Senate and now requires concurrence from the House of Representatives before being sent to President Bola Tinubu for final assent.
Additionally, community leaders acknowledged Ndume’s efforts in securing N66bn for erosion-control projects across Southern Borno.
