Senator Carlos Núñez calls for audits of Paraguay's school feeding program

Senator Carlos Núñez has threatened to request a congressional audit of Paraguay's regional governments regarding the management of the ‘Hambre Cero’ school feeding program. Núñez expressed doubts concerning the handling of funds and claimed that meals provided in schools lack necessary nutrients for children.

Based on observations from school visits, the senator reported that while food is edible, it does not meet nutritional requirements. He stated that if governors continue to mismanage the program, he will seek an absolute majority vote in Congress to initiate audits of the 17 regional governments to ensure funds are being fully utilized for their intended purpose.
