Senator Carlos Viana seeks preservation of evidence in Lulinha investigation

Senator Carlos Viana has requested that Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister André Mendonça deepen investigations and ensure the full preservation of digital evidence regarding an inquiry into Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as “Lulinha”. The investigation explores alleged influence peddling involving the eldest son of President Lula.

The probe examines suspected schemes to favor specific companies within federal agencies, including the Ministry of Health, Dataprev, and Telebras. It also looks into potential links between Lulinha, lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger, and former presidential chief of staff Marco Aurélio Santana Ribeiro.

Viana, the former president of the INSS Parliamentary Inquiry Committee (CPMI), expressed concerns regarding attempts to “shield” the investigation from public scrutiny. He specifically called for the protection of original files and images, noting that some messages attributed to Lulinha had reportedly been deleted before being recovered by Federal Police forensic tools. Additionally, Viana criticized the Senate leadership for not extending the INSS CPMI and urged the creation of a new parliamentary inquiry to ensure transparency.
