Goiás modifies health and cultural services for capital transfer holiday

The state government of Goiás issued Decree 10.935, symbolically transferring the state capital to the town of Goiás and declaring a point‑facultative on 20 July. As a result, a number of public services altered their operating hours. Health facilities such as the Centre for High‑Cost Medication (Cemac JB), the State Dental Center (Coeg) and the Centre for Integrative and Complementary Medicine (Cremic) will not serve the public on that day. Hospital emergency and intensive services remain open, while ambulatory clinics, pharmacy outlets and some specialized units suspend attendance and resume on 21 July. Laboratory services operate on a reduced schedule. Parallel changes affect cultural institutions: Cine Cultura, the Octo Marques Cultural Center and the Vila Cultural Cora Coralina stay open, whereas the State Historical Archive, several museums, libraries and the state theater close for the day and reopen the following day. Essential services such as the State Transplant Center, the Central Blood Bank and 24‑hour toxicology assistance continue uninterrupted.
