Senator Damares Alves seeks to recruit female lawmakers to Republicanos

Senator Damares Alves is working to recruit female senators and deputies to the Republicanos party. Her goal is to strengthen the party's influence regarding women's issues and human rights.

Alves, an ally of Michelle Bolsonaro, stated that she considers Republicanos the best party for women, noting that three former Ministers of Human Rights have been affiliated with the party. She confirmed that she has already extended invitations to several female parliamentarians.

Separately, Republicanos is reportedly attempting to attract Michelle Bolsonaro, the senator-elect from the Federal District. Bolsonaro is currently a member of the Liberal Party (PL), but reports suggest dissatisfaction within her current party. The Republicanos leadership aims to build a political ticket featuring Bolsonaro and Tarcísio de Freitas.
