Senator Edwin Sifuna pledges to replace driver's vehicle torched in Homa Bay

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has pledged to replace the vehicle of Steven Otieno, a taxi driver who was severely injured and lost his livelihood during political violence in Homa Bay.

The incident occurred on August 16 following a Linda Mwananchi political rally. Otieno, who was hired to transport passengers associated with the movement, was ambushed by an armed group of youths. The attack left Otieno with multiple injuries, including a fractured arm and deep machete wounds to his head, back, and limbs. His vehicle, a Subaru Legacy belonging to his sister, was subsequently set ablaze.

Following reports of the ordeal, Senator Sifuna announced via social media that the Linda Mwananchi team would coordinate with Otieno to provide a replacement vehicle and assist with medical relief. Otieno had previously appealed to political leaders for assistance as he continued to recover from his injuries.
