Senator Gabriel Elizondo proposes binational plan for Coahuila border

Senator Gabriel Elizondo Pérez has presented a proposal to the Mexican Senate aimed at strengthening relations between Mexico and the United States, specifically focusing on the economic development of Coahuila. A central component of the proposal is the creation of a Binational Work Table to address congestion at the Piedras Negras-Eagle Pass international crossing and to streamline commercial exchange.

Elizondo emphasized the need for improved coordination between the federal government, the state of Coahuila, and the United States to facilitate trade and enhance border infrastructure. He noted ongoing collaboration with Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas to manage efforts regarding investment attraction, innovation, and talent development in the region. This initiative is part of a broader legislative agenda involving 17 different instruments, which includes proposals regarding regional gasoline pricing mechanisms.
