Senator Gladys Domínguez faces backlash from AGMER union

A political dispute has emerged in Entre Ríos, Argentina, between provincial Senator Gladys Domínguez and the teachers' union, Asociación Gremial del Magisterio de Entre Ríos (AGMER). The conflict arose after Domínguez visited the union’s ‘Escuela Itinerante’ (Itinerant School) in San José de Feliciano.

AGMER Secretary General Abel Antivero declared Domínguez a ‘persona no grata’ (unwelcome person), characterizing her presence as a provocation against teachers. The union criticized her for voting in favor of a provincial pension reform that they claim negatively impacts workers' rights and salaries.

Senator Domínguez denied any intention to provoke, stating she was simply passing through to greet neighbors and colleagues after visiting a local hospital. She defended her record by highlighting her work on local infrastructure and educational improvements, asserting that her commitment to education is demonstrated through concrete actions rather than political disputes.
