Senator Jayme Campos seeks governorship of Mato Grosso
Former governor Mauro Mendes said Senator Jayme Campos must win the internal conventions of both the Union Brazil party and its federation partner, the Progressistas, to become the official candidate for the Mato Grosso governorship. The decision will be confirmed by the state federation and its national leadership.
Jayme Campos confirmed he has the declared support of Senate President Davi Alcolumbre for his bid and affirmed his intention to contest the Union Brazil convention scheduled for 4 August. He also highlighted his legislative work on raising the revenue ceiling for micro‑entrepreneurs, a bill that has been approved in the Senate and is now pending in the Chamber of Deputies.
