Senator Jim Banks discusses economy and Iran policy on NBC

Senator Jim Banks (R-IN) appeared on NBC News’ ‘Meet the Press’ to discuss several national issues, including economic performance, foreign policy, and internal Republican controversies.

During the interview, Banks defended Donald Trump’s economic record, assigning it an ‘A+’ grade and highlighting growth in the manufacturing and construction sectors. Regarding foreign policy, Banks praised the administration’s strategy toward Iran, citing the neutralization of much of Iran’s ballistic missile capacity and the impact of naval blockades on the Iranian economy.

Banks also addressed allegations of domestic abuse involving Representative Max Miller (R-OH). While describing the allegations as ‘deeply troubling,’ Banks mistakenly identified Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH) as the father-in-law of Miller’s ex-wife, rather than the actual relative. This error drew significant criticism and mockery from political commentators and social media users.
