Senator John Barrasso discusses midterm elections and foreign policy

Senate Republican Whip John Barrasso discussed the upcoming midterm elections during an interview on October 11, 2026. Barrasso expressed optimism regarding opportunities for Republicans to gain seats in battleground states such as New Hampshire, Michigan, and Minnesota.

Barrasso criticized Democratic candidates, specifically citing the Senate nominee in Michigan, El-Sayed. He claimed that during a recent debate, El-Sayed failed to answer a question regarding whether Iran or Israel poses a greater threat to the United States, which Barrasso characterized as an extreme position.
