Senator John Kennedy predicts end to U.S.-Iran war within six months
U.S. Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana predicted during a speech in Des Moines, Iowa, that the conflict between the United States and Iran will conclude within six months.
Speaking at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition fall fundraiser, Kennedy attributed current high inflation to the war, specifically citing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that because oil is a fundamental component of many goods, the conflict has driven up fuel costs and overall prices. He noted that the 3.7% increase in inflation, based on the personal consumption expenditures price index, is a direct result of the war.
In Iowa, average prices for regular unleaded gas have reached $4.39 per gallon, a 47% increase from the previous year, while diesel has reached a record average of $6.21 per gallon. Kennedy also used the event to support U.S. Representative Ashley Hinson’s campaign and defend Republican tax reduction efforts.
