Senator Jordon Steele-John denies sexual misconduct allegations

Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John has issued a public statement denying allegations of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior toward party members. Addressing claims made in a letter sent to Greens leader David Shoebridge, Steele-John stated that allegations regarding a former partner relate to a period where he was a victim of abuse, harassment, and blackmail.

The Senator noted that he has previously cooperated with WA Police regarding domestic violence matters and was cleared of wrongdoing. He further alleged that his former partner remains under investigation by the WA Police Family and Domestic Violence team.

Regarding allegations of misconduct toward Greens members between 2017 and 2025, Steele-John denied all wrongdoing and suggested the claims may be motivated by internal party factionalism. He also disputed reports that he had agreed to take immediate leave from Parliament, asserting that he remains in his role while welcoming a robust and independent investigation by the Greens WA.
