Senator Juan Carlos Pagotto found dead in La Rioja

Argentine Senator Juan Carlos Pagotto was found dead in his home in the capital of La Rioja at the age of 74. Pagotto was a key figure within the La Libertad Avanza party, aligned with the faction led by Karina Milei.

As the president of the strategic Senate Agreements Commission, Pagotto played a vital role in overseeing more than 200 judicial appointments this year. Presidential spokesperson Adrián Ravier announced that his seat will be filled by Claudia Cecilia López, a provincial legislator who was second on the 2023 candidate list.
